Chairman Royce Questions Witnesses at Hearing on U.S. Relations with Vietnam
The title says it all. The United States’ Chairman Ed Royce also said it all at this recent subcommittee hearing concerning human rights issues in Vietnam. Powerful words and indisputable points.
“… at some point, our actions have to match our words. We are at that point with Vietnam. Seriously. You can’t have 40 cases like this in 6 weeks and not have the United States take decisive action.”
May their actions match their words. Kudos to Chairman Royce!

Nhân danh hàng triệu triệu nạn nhân vô tội của chế độ độc tài, đã ngã gục hay còn đang phải chịu đựng một cái chết dần mòn và đau đớn trong gông cùm cộng sản, tôi xin ông vui lòng cho phổ biến những bài thơ này trên mảnh đất tự do của quý quốc. Đó là kết quả hai mươi năm làm việc của tôi. Phần lớn được sáng tác trong những năm tôi bị giam cầm. Tôi nghĩ rằng không ai khác mà chính chúng tôi, những nạn nhân có nhiệm vụ phải phơi bày cho thế giới thấy niềm đau đớn khôn cùng của cả một dân tộc đang bị áp chế và đầy đọa. Cuộc đời tan nát của tôi chỉ còn một ước mơ duy nhất là được thấy càng nhiều người ý thức được rằng Cộng Sản là một tai họa khủng khiếp của nhân loại.

Mission Freedom Vietnam
Blessed are those who thirst and hunger for righteousness, for they shall be filled (Matthew 5:6)
Alright folks. Recently some people – including readers of this blog – have expressed their desire to help Vietnam. Some friends, family members and even colleagues became outraged and fumed with anger when I explained to them the plight of the Vietnamese people in Vietnam. I don’t know what’s the cause of the surge in people becoming concerned with Vietnam’s affairs and why all of a sudden they have a tone of urgency in their voice, but the suffering of the Vietnamese people under the government of Vietnam has been going on for decades.
Perhaps it’s because the CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Company) just published an article about Vo Minh Tri (Viet Khang) and Tran Vu Anh Binh’s trial today:

Or perhaps they felt compassion for a young Vietnamese highschool girl who wrote a letter to President Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton pleading them to prevent China from invading Hoang Sa and Truong Sa (Paracel Island and Spratly Island):

Folks, I thank you for your support and for joining me as we raise our voices for those who are silenced and we lend our hearts to those who need love. I am Catholic and every Sunday since I was born voices from the pulpit always preached to me about loving my neighbours, the oppressed, the forgotten, the marginalized, the underprivileged. “Blessed are those who thirst and hunger for righteousness”, says Jesus, “for they shall be filled” (Matthew 5:6).
Well, life is not worth living if I only live for myself. Life becomes worthwhile once it is lived for others. So as we continue this arduous journey, I echo the words of Blessed Pope John Paul II: Do not be afraid! Rise, let us be on our way.

We are looking forward to viewing this film, “Hồn Việt”, which will feature the history of VNCH as well as our Freedom & Heritage flag, our national anthem performed by the National Presidential Orchestra of the Ukraine, and the lives and accomplishments of the Vietnamese diaspora and youth worldwide today… among other treasures.
It will be released by DVD and on YouTube on November 17, 2012, by the Vietnam Film Club.

Regardless of the language you speak, be it Vietnamese, English, French, there’s a universal language that desires to be spoken by every human being on this great earth. That’s the language of Freedom. The language has various dialects, such as Freedom of Speech, from the Speech area, the major dialect of this language; or Freedom of Religion for example, from the region of Religion, known for its mystics and saints.
It’s a peculiar one, this language of Freedom. Though hunted down through the centuries by tyrants and dictators, it never could be extinguished. As long as there was Conscience, there was Freedom. But that’s just it, it cannot be extinguished because this language does not belong to any one particular race or ethnic group, it is owned by all Humanity. And when even one human being is barred from practising this language, then millions of hearts will rise and join as one voice speaking Freedom:

There will be those who would rather us sit back and do nothing. There will be those who would rather us be ignorant and apathetic.
